I can't cook, I can't even make a bowl of macaroni properly. Hell, the only thing I can cook is pancakes. Basically everything I eat is fast food, prepared by another individual or frozen.

I barbecued two steaks and prepared Lipton sidekicks (chicken-broccoli or something like that) for dinner for my girlfriend and I

I just cooked egg noodles with asparagus sauce.

Ingredients:

Quote:
A dozen asparagus stalks
1 medium onion
butter
minced garlic
balsamic vinegar
vegetable broth
black pepper
paprika
sriracha chili sauce
kosher salt
Egg noodles

I chopped the asparagus into one inch sections, then boiled them until they got soft. This takes about 5 minutes to get them as soft as I needed.

I then drained them and let them dry off a bit.

I diced an onion, then mixed some minced garlic into it.

I heated up a frying pan, buttered it, then added the asparagus and onion/garlic mixture. I sauteed them until the onion was translucent. I then stirred in some kosher salt, pepper, paprika, and sriracha chili sauce.

I added a bit of the broth, and then chopped up the asparagus with the edge of my spatula. I let the mixture come to boil, then chopped it up again. At this point I splashed in some balsamic vinegar.

I let the broth evaporate a bit, and added a bit more. I kept chopping and smooshing the mixture until it was of even consistency.

In about 5 minutes I had a thick green sauce.

I stirred a teaspoon of butter into it, then poured it onto the egg noodles.

I made pizza door stops.

2 slices of gluten free bread.
Spread with a layer of homemade pasta sauce.
Layer of diced red onions and red capsicum.
Layer of thinly sliced mushrooms
Layer of buffalo mozzerella
Top with 2 more gluten free bread slices.

Heat 3cms of oil in a skillet.
Push the sandwiches into a mix of 4 beaten eggs, turning so they soak up the egg.
Fry in the oil until bread goes crispy and cheese is all oozy.

My children had this for tea. :D The vege content makes it healthy.

Eggy bread, which is basically just bread dipped in egg and fried.

Around here, there are two different ways of making this.

1. French toast. The egg is beaten, then the bread is dipped in it, then fried.

2. Elephant eyes. You punch a hole in the center of the slice of bread. You beat some eggs, but segregate the yolks of as many eggs as slices of bread to be used. You dip the bread in the beaten eggs, then place it on the frying pan. Then you stick a yolk in the center. It's kind of a Sunny Side Up but with a French toast endoskeleton.

A properly made elephant eye is amenable to being sliced apart and the pieces dipped into the gooey yolk contained neatly within the center.

Well does dunking pumpernickel bread in spaghetti sauce, followed by dessert consisting of unsweetened chocolate almond milk smoothie with apple banana, cinnamon and raw cacao qualify as cooking?
I'm disappointed in my culinary skills this p.m.!

Easy cabbage stir fry.

Fry off 3 crushed cloves of garlic, 1tsp of grated ginger and 3 green onions.
Then add half a head off cabbage shreaded and stir fry until all wilted.
Then add some soaked vermicelli noodles and some grated carrot.
Add a dash of tamarind sauce and a small spoon of honey and stir around and serve.

my own version of "aspergers sauce" [defacto goulash] usually contains a bit of tomato sauce/ketchup, spices such as onion and garlic and chili powder and some mrs. dash salt-free spice, a bit of teriyaki sauce, and some kind of cheese, usually cheddar. i use this sauce as a foundation for canned peas or corn or quick rice or oatmeal or malt-o-meal or couscous or stuffing mix, with some added tuna or canned chopped turkey/chicken and dehydrated veggies. yummm :)

I just made some chicken.

I heated up a skillet, buttered it, and dropped in a chicken breast.

I liberally coated it with pepper, kosher salt, and garlic, and waited for the bottom to turn white.

I then cut it into 1cm strips, and rotated them so each side became white.

I then cut each strip into 1cm cubes, added more butter and some sriracha sauce, and stirred them until they were fully cooked.

I dabbed two spoonfuls of mayonnaise on the end of the plate and stirred in sriracha sauce and some balsamic vinegar, as a dipping sauce.

Pad thai is shockingly easy to make! The hardest part for me was finding mung bean sprouts. All I could find was canned, which is far from ideal. :-( I'm considering ordering mung beans and sprouting my own. Here's how I did it:

Cook half a package of rice noodles (about 4 oz., I think). Defrost a dozen frozen (cooked) shrimp.

Make a sauce out of 3 tablespoons fish sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 3 tablespoons lime juice, and 2 teaspoons Splenda (it's the only sweetener in the house).

In 2 tablespoons oil, stir-fry 3 cloves of minced garlic and some cayenne pepper for about 30 seconds. Add in the cooked noodles, and stir together with the garlic, about 30 seconds. Push the noodles to the side and cook 1/2 cup egg substitute (that's 2 eggs). When they start to set, stir through the noodles, 30 seconds. Stir in the sauce and the shrimp.

Turn off the heat and stir in 2 chopped scallions, a (drained) can of bean sprouts, 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts and some dried cilantro.

Delicious, even with substitutions. :-9

The last thing I cooked was boneless country pork ribs, barbecue beans, and mashed potatoes.

I'm trying to resist cooking an artichoke to have the leaves with hollandaise sauce as an evening snack.
