You're too old for me. This so totally creeps me out. What are you doing hanging out with all of us. Are you in competition with me now? I'm only here to pick up 21 to 25 year olds. You're last week's bread.

Get over it, dude! I hope you know I'm kidding about you being too old for me. We could work something out. I'm too busy posting to mow my huge lawn in one day. Maybe you could save yourself some grief and mow it for me.

Just kidding about that, too.

Waterdogs,

I'm 50 and a half and I just got here. I gotta tell ya, there are lots of silly fun things to do and some pretty cool and intelligent people to interact with. Also the price is right.

I feel the same as I did when I was 17, on the inside and after addressing a few objections from noisy and worn joints, occasionally, I can keep up with good men half my age, maybe even you. The real question is can they keep up with me? My point is, I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet, just because someone is creeped out by my presence. I feel welcome here, even after your remarks which were not intended to offend anyone, and so should you.

I really like this place. The real treasure is in the 'archives', though. Many of the older threads are full of life and pain and hope and suffering and recovery and I hope I can read every uplifting and meaningful post about my difficulties and how other people with similar challenges are coping with daily drudgery on their way to better things.

Peace, Bro.

I'm 31 and I'll be 32, at the end of October.

(And it's not very polite to ask a Woman about her Age.)

I'm 17, and I think WrongPlanet is a really cool place to post topics and feelings. In the real world, or at least at my current school, you wouldn't be able to converse like this with adults (making an exception for other adults at school). Everyone is treated almost as if they're the same age here, or pretty much age doesn't matter (or I haven't seen it matter yet). Anyways, WP has a lot of really cool, imaginative, and intelligent people here, which also adds to its environment. Oh yeah, there are aspies here huh...lolol. Yes, I do love this cyberplace; an aspie could really find a place to have their thoughts spoken out, and could have people kind of see what they're really like instead of what lots of the real world may lable them. It's also a nice place for people who want to know more about autism/Asperger's, since there are lots of people willing to give them advice.

IRL most peoples friends are with-in a few years of each other thats where the
creepy factor comes from for young people here. On the net it does not matter that
much.

Is the creepy bracket anyone over 30 or, as you seem to imply, anyone between 30-40?

If it is the latter then I am no longer creepy because I am 47.

Also, will it still be the creepy bracket when you get past 30?

Liking internet forums or before that, bulletin board forums, has no correlation with age. Maybe there are more young people using internet forums because more young people are familiar with the technology.

I also think (this is purely theory not researched fact) that Aspies might be more inclined to use computers to communicate than perhaps Neurotypical people - who are more inclined to face to face type interaction.

I've noticed at least one aspie bloke use the computer to say how hard it is to talk to his wife/partner. Ie he was on the net forums talking to strangers because talking to the person he wanted to talk to and needed to talk to was too difficult.

Perhaps the main reason there are fewer older people on the aspie forums - is because fewer older people who are aspie actually know it. These days, young people can get diagnosed, there are quite a few specialists in diagnosing Asperger's in children but hardly any who specialise in diagnosing adults - none in my town. I would suppose that the aspie adults who don't know it are still happily posting away on other bulletin boards and forums related to their special interests.

The bullies won. People who were nominated to serve on the editorial committee declined.

dyslexia has nothing to do with spelling so i don't know why your accusing it as the culprit. dyslexia has to to with reading.

my guess is your just typing way to fast, you know there is a preview button for a reason. i sugjest you use it.

It seems like there's a lot of people here in the teens to 20's range. Thats snot-nosed and immature if you ask me. When I was that age, I was chasing skirts and would'nt be posting on messege boards. I hope nobody takes offense to this, it just seems wierd to me.

No in our 20's they just invent the web. Hell I remember using Lynx text based
web browser in college when other people only new what IRC was at the time.
If you knew what Linux was then chance are you never kissed a girl before.
