Thanks everyone, it seems most like ratties :)

Some of you mention rats and other pets, it is actually the RATS that pose more of a risk to a lot of other pets. While mine are never aggressive to me, they strike anything else like a snake. I sometimes give mine locusts and mealworms, and the speed they chase & kill them is amazing. Rats are certainly not vegetarian like some people think, they require meat in their diet as much as anything else.

We had to rehome a kitten because it wasn't safe for him around rats. My two males were bigger then him!

I have never had a pet rat, though i have known people who had pet rats and loved them...it is frustrating because they have such short lifespans.....are they not rats?
