I will swap. Anyone complaining about rainfall can come and live here. We actually have a desalination plant because our water supply gets critically low over summer and we have strict water conditions including not being able to water your garden unless you use a bucket and only on certain days of the week. 8O

Wow, I wouldn't like that. I have lots of vegetables in my garden, I don't have a hosepipe, but if I could only water on certain days my seedlings would die. :(

in 2009 summer we had a heat wave of 10 consecutive days of weather over 45. 8O

8O I would die in that kind of weather. Spending a day in the Sahara desert in Egypt was bad enough, and to top it off it was only winter season

It sounds horrendous. I flake out if it goes over 25. And I never tan, I just go red and peel. I spent a month in Egypt and the heat was horrendous. I was so ill prepared.

Mind you we don't have air conditioning around here. We just open a window.

To be fair i think air conditioning isn't that healthy for you anyway. Have you ever stepped out of an air conditioned building and got that wonderful shock to the system as the tempreture suddenly wacks up 10 degree's. Rapid heat gain or loss like that is not good for your homeostasis

I don't tan either. I just go pink then red. My ginger hair turns sun bleached blonde if i've been out in it for too long. Sun burned scalp = Pain if you have long hair

I don't really tan either. Nor do my children. I dye my hair darker in summer so my scalp doesn't burn and reapply invisible zinc every hour. Over summer i use fake tanning stuff so i am not as white as a ghost and still i manage to stay white.

I want to move to a colder climate, everyone is so lucky not to live here.

I have been in and out of air conditioned buildings. When I was in Egypt we snuck into a posh hotel in the middle of Cairo, just to cool down. When we left it was like being put from the fridge into the oven.

I also do work in a polytunnel every week, walking into it at the moment is like walking into a sauna. My glasses steam up. Coming back out into 25 degree heat feels like walking into a cool breeze in comparison.

Ah yes, the ginger gene. My hair is reddish brown, and I get freckles. I don't know where it comes from, my mother is blonde and my father has black hair (or did before he went bald). Ginger people should stay clear of sunshine.

Nope, it gave Oasis a career though.

If I could post it to you, I would send you a nice rain-shower. The rainiest place in the UK is not far from here.

I wish it would rain most days. It rains maybe three times a month here and usually the rain only lasts an hour or so. Maybe in the future we will be able to make it rain for places that need it! I recommend checking out this article for anyone who takes the interest in creating weather. http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/01/03/sci ... bi-desert/

It's been really dry in Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire too. It's even worse tonight because there are thunderstorms lurking and it's really muggy and sticky :( Luckily my pretty flowers are growing and my rabbits are coping with the heat. I think I might join you in a rain dance. Shall we meet in the middle somewhere with Cameron, do a sacrifice to the rain Gods while chanting stuff?

Wales is wonderful for rain. I love rain. I love Wales. Please post me some Welsh rain.

I think I'm going a bit delirious with the lack of moisture.

Groovy, I like dancing and chanting stuff. Sacrificing Cameron would just be a bonus. I'll meet you in Newmarket. 8)

Oh noes. I don't want anywhere to flood. :( Maybe they could channel some of the excess Mississippi to East Anglia.

I have a friend in the UK that I taught to focus energy into the weather. She's made it rain before.

Nevada's behind a wind wall, so I doubt it would work here (plus the fact that she's more adept at focusing energy than me... I just figured out how to focus it into the weather). You could try it, though. All it takes is some basic understanding of how to focus energy.
