Best time: Early childhood up to the age of about 10 or 11, I think. Sure, those times had their share of frustration, but life really has been going downhill since a peak that was reached when I was about 9...

Worst time: Secondary school. By the time that period of my life ended, I was a complete emotional wreck, and things would never feel particularly secure again.

Best time: November 2007 - January 2008

Worst time: January 2008 - March 2011

Worst time: June 2004 to June 2009
Best time: Everything after that. I'm not alone all the time anymore. I don't get picked on anymore.

Worst time is a toss-up between February-March 2009 and December-January 2010/11. Both were very bad and included contemplation and desperately feeble attempts of suicide and the like.
The best time...I'm hesitant to say this current period, as a lot of times when I was young were good. However, I was but a small child back then, so it sort of doesn't count in the grand scheme of things.

Best time: between about 3 and 7 years old. Everything was fun, always just pure enjoyment.

Worst time: from just before turning 18 to just after turning 19 years old. Severe depression, close calls with suicide.

The best time is now, because I don't have what made the rest of my life the worst time. (academic pressure, depression, and subsequent lack of academic pressure)

Best time: 2007-2009

Worst Time: 2004 & Fall 2010-Winter/Early Spring 2011

I'm confident that the best times are coming in the next 5-10 years. The older, more mature Sterfry will have a better understanding of how to appreciate the good times when they occur.

That's a great attitude, and I think I'll have to borrow your answer there (though I won't be so specific as to name a year range). One can have the best of times even during the worst of times, with the right perspective. So far, the past year of my life has probably been the best--I have learned and grown a lot and, I hope, become better off and a better person for it. I intend to continue the trend.

As for the worst times, about 1999-2003 were quite difficult for me, particularly 2003, due to being a depressed autistic teen stuck in an unhealthy environment, and then again the latter part of 2008/first half of 2009, due to not handling well extended poor health and injury.

Why?:
*Pretty good grades = smart
*President of miamaid class = calling
*Running 1/2 marathon = athletic
*Running cross-country/ track = popular
*Hung out with friends sometimes = popular

*worst time: 7th grade (seriously, I wish that year didn't exist)
Why?:
*Bad grades = slacker
*Found out that I had Autism = depressed
*BFF since I moved in 1st grade moved to a different school because I accidentally affected her = more depressed + another person depressed
*Becoming vegetarian = not healthy (not informed)
*Being anorexic = even less healthy
*Being on a new sleeping schedule of 2-5 hours of sleep a day because that was my only freedom = aches and pain all day long and very unhealthy
*Detention every day and being suspended for 3 days = rebellious
*Getting puberty = being a teenager
*Being suicidal = complete crap

But....I hope college will be the best time!

one of many worst times....having to live with my grandmother who had schizophrenia. she would tie me into a chair and pick bugs (non-existant) off my body. she would then spread bleach all over me. all day. i was 4/5/6. see, i do have an excuse for being so f...ed up.

one of many great times.......running across the ngorongoro crater in tanzania. a collapsed volcano. what an intense two hours. loose sandy soil, sleeping predators, ostrich drinking from a small pool of water, startled by the crazy white guy, they run in all directions, one right at me. like i said -- intense.

The worst time was my teenage years. I was being bullied at school and we had a few traumatic things going on in my family - my auntie was being hospitalised on and off for bipolar disorder and I witnessed one of her suicide attempts; my cousin was murdered by a gang (he was a complete innocent who just happened to be in their way); my other auntie died suddenly, then her husband died and my orphaned cousin came to live with us. However, I also met my husband then, so it wasn't all bad.

The best time is now. I'm all grown up (38) and don't care what people think anymore. I have a good marriage and a wonderful little girl, who's a lot of work, but totally worth it. I'm a full-time mum, so I don't need to see anyone I don't want to, unlike when you go to school or work.
