My Onitsuka Tigers were about AU$190.

I had a $225 pair of RMK boots on lay-by once but I cancelled.

I'd never spend that on shoes, its enough for me to live for a month.

By saving and splashing out on these useless objects.
My last pair of shoes were $500 AUD, a pair of Saucony shoes.

Where do we get this money from?
Investments, parents who were highly successful. I recall an article that stated those parents of autistic children are highly organised, intellectuals who have held positions in high end businesses.

Other than that, I guess it's just luck.

On the other hand, I basically live on $5000 a year. So my investments just keep accumulating. X_X!

Around £30 for a comfortable pair of leather shoes.

I wouldn't buy any designer brand products anyway, the quality might be good but generally no better than good quality unbranded goods. It seems silly to me that 99% of the price of a designer brand is pure profit for the company. The Goochi shoes the OP mentioned probably only cost $20 or less to make. I used to work in the textile industry and the same factories that made the high street goods also made the designer label goods. The same people making them on the same machines for roughly the same cost of production. Only difference the brand name and price tag.

You exagerate. Saucony are just another sports brand like Nike and Adidas.

I've spent $80 on a pair of Nikes, because they were similar to the ones that my hero wore in 1981. I was making a bit more money back than.

About $80 on a nice pair of professional-looking dress shoes that I got for a big job interview.
Must have worked too, I got the job

I wear workboots most always, and good ones aren't cheap. I like Timberland Pro steel toe with Vibram soles, which cost from (US) $100-$200 depending on model. Comfort and safety are very important for my feet, so I think it's money well-spent. I would NEVER pay much for dress shoes or sneakers, because I don't wear them enough for it to matter.
