I'm sorry if what I said sounded melodramatic.

I think I just have a phobia of contagious disease. It's not just TB. For example, I have this fear of used syringes because I'm scared I'll get HIV.

I wonder if people with AS have similar things annoy them. For me, there are few things that piss me off quicker than people in customer service being artificially cheerful and asking how I am. You don't care how I am, you're saying that because your boss requires you to. I don't want to engage in small talk with you. Do your goddamn job, ring my order up, and DON'T TALK TO ME! So, what annoys you?

Funny you mentioned that. I have AS & I used to work in customer service and one of my biggest pet peeves is being told to be cheerful and friendly. Even before I had that job, I've always hated it when people told me to smile and be happy. It feels so forced. Do all NTs think that if you're not smiling then you must be unhappy? Nobody's happy and smiling all the time, y'know!

I think my fear is beyond reasonable.

I actually look for syringes when I go into a public loo, even if I'm not in a place where I'm likely to see them. I saw one syringe in a public loo once and that's it, I always check. I'm the same in parks, as well, because I used to see them all the time in parks when I was kid and would still actually play on the grass. When I realised how dangerous that was, I got this phobia.

People who keep asking me "What's wrong?" when nothing is and I'm just spacing out/thinking.

Yeah, I hate that too! And with me, if I say nothing's wrong people think I'm lying and they are like "Come on, you can tell me", because my facial expression is a little odd.

I can't stand people saying "No offense meant" before or after offending you. I mean, come on! I already am or was offended. It's just the same as telling someone "I like you and all, but I don't really like you, like you". If you have something to say, say it straight with no sugar coating it.

when people throw their fag ends on the floor. its so environmentally irresponsible especially near waterways or during drought conditions. same for gum. not an environmental hazard but i dislike stepping in it or touching it just because some lazy sod could not be bothered finding a bin or swallowing it.

It's the same with me. When that happens, I just exaggerate something in my day that slightly annoyed me and pretend that it was what "upset" me. That usually gets people to leave me alone.

Grammar Natzies. It annoys me when people keep pointing out typos & complain about my spelling & grammar. I'm dyslexic & not a great typer. Even if I preview my post 5+ times; I still won't be able to have perfect grammar. Least I'm not a controlling judgmental bastard. Who made them so freaking pefect

Blue tooth users. I am not sure why this annoys me but maybe because I don't often know they are on the phone when I see them talking to themselves. My husband does this and he goes "Sorry i was talking to my brother" that's why I hate them.

It's been starting to annoy me now that my husband has been using incense in our bedroom because I sure hope my clothes don't smell like it because I can't stand the smell and having the window open doesn't keep the smell out and I am going to chew him out if all my clothes smell that way. Laundry isn't free so it be lot of clothes I would have to wash. If he wants to do incense go outside and light it.
I smelled it on my baby as I was holding him because he was in there and I started to realize my clothes may smell that way too since his onesie he had on smelled that way. Also him leaving the light in there has been driving me crazy. He leaves our bedroom and he leaves the light on.

I'm not racist, but..." followed by a racist comment.

"I know it's none of my business, but..." followed by a harsh critique of something that, indeed, is none of their business.

"I know I don't have kids, but..." followed by an arrogant attempt to tell someone else how to raise their children.

"I know you don't wanna hear this, but..." Then don't say it.
