I don't need to be macho just because I'm a guy.

But yeah, gender stereotypes are annoying. Hell, any stereotypes are annoying.
I was just telling someone that I didn't feel any pressure to be manly though. I think I'm just oblivious.

I'm oblivious or indifferent until you call me a fag or something then I'll slap you down and devestate your misheld assumptions

I find macho men to be very much of a turn off...unless they are just very maculine men by nature...which doesnt bother me, but the insecure macho man anoys me to no end. I prefer gender-neutral guys if any at all.

See I was taught to be tough. If someone confronts me or if someone who is weaker is being harassed then I have to stand my ground and confront them. I don't really consider that macho, which seems more of a facade to me. You can be afraid or insecure, which sometimes I am, but still not let people use and abuse you.

I've never really been attracted to tough guys or guys that act macho. In fact I usually find myself more drawn to guys who are a bit on the effeminate side. I think our culture tends to exaggerate too much of these laws of attraction when it comes to gender roles. Ashame many people including heterosexuals have to hide in the closet b/c others seem them in some way as "inferior" or have it in their heads we're to be a specific way. My half brother grew up with a redneck step dad who use to call him names like fa***t or phrases comparing him to women. All it did was turn him into a total pr*ck with issues. He's tried this macho act by getting into burglary and car chasing from police. He's now serving time for the 6th time on violating his parole and possessing a wealth of narcotics. I still write to him and he still tries to be the cool brother he is.

No there isn't. Macho guys don't cry. That's like Macho 101. :P

Perhaps the shame got to him and he couldn't it anymore.
