Today was awful... All 6 of my nieces and nephews, all under the age of 10, are staying over at our house. 4 of them are staying because one of my sisters has to go to this church meeting thing in Colorado with her husband, and the other 2 are staying because my other sister was like "why not?".

I feel really bad for my parents, because they are in their mid 50s and are getting too old and tired to look after children. They seem really exhausted, both mentally and physically. I wish there was more I could do to help them, but every time I go out amongst the chaos, my brain starts shutting down and I find myself sitting in a corner, getting distracted by coloring books or chalk rather than actually helping out with the kids.

I am also highly prone to meltdowns during this time - yesterday I felt like I was going to completely lose it for basically no reason at all. Nothing "feels right". It's like my home isn't my home anymore. The only comfort I have is when everyone else is asleep and I can watch my favorite movies or TV shows.

I think today will be good. I am tired, though.

I had a mixed day today, it's my birthday (which is good) but I had a job interview this morning that I didn't get (which I was quite upset about). I'm now looking for books to download on to my Kindle which was a birthday present (anyone have any recommendations for cheap/ free e-books?) and looking forward to going out for tea (dinner/ evening meal) with my family.

Anger-induced rant from reading too many outrageous news stories. Though I still stand by much of what I said on principle, I feel better right now.

Thanks.

Today was ok...I feel sad at the moment, I guess, for want of a better word. Though, don't let that be a downer on the thread!

Sorry

I'd rather have had the job though so I'll be consoling myself with the cake!
