I'm sure it will all go swimmingly Grisha.

They will enjoy your company, and you will enjoy theirs.

And you can treat them to some nice meals out if your kitchen is so bare!

Have fun.

As if this were a trivial matter! Have you ever seen a single guy's apartment?

I can work out all the details later, there's plenty to see and do in LA, and I eat out all the time anyway.

I just need a clean apartment and a reasonably comfortable place for them to sleep after the 10 hour flight...

When I mean "bare" I'm not just referring to the absence of food - I'm talking about the absence of anything: pots/pans, plates, etc...

I have a mixture of basic food ingredients that I eat on a regular basis when I don't eat out, and it doesn't require cooking...

That reminds me....whenever I used to babysit, I would ask the kids what they want to do.

I've learned that in any boring situation, as long as there are enough people, somebody will have an idea of something to do.

My two cents:

I just had two friends from college stay. One of the first things I did was pick up groceries, and show them where everything is--use the cliche "help yourself". And before they came I told them to bring a book or something to do--I sleep in a lot and routinely get headaches/need time by myself.

If it's clean [for a bachelor!] and you're hospitable [for an aspie!] everything will be fine!

Got them home alive, but only had tapwater in a children's Ikea cup to offer them - classy, no?

Maybe you could go shopping with them today? Buy a few basics. Like a corkscrew, plates, knives, forks, glasses, wine, fruit juice etc. At the same time show them around a bit? Then get a takeaway meal?

I'm sure they're not expecting you to provide the Ritz, but I guess being able to serve them the basics would be appreciated.

But mostly, just enjoy their company, and I'm sure they will enjoy your company too.

Shopping is definitely on the agenda today: we have an awesome store here, Trader Joes

Then Laguna Beach for a walk, lunch at Las Brisas overlooking the ocean...this is going to be fun!

Try to relax (ha ha!) and have a great time! Lots of people don't cook at home, I think you only have to worry about a clean and comfortable place to sleep and plenty of towels/washcloths. Remember that some chicks take a long time in the bathroom with their getting-ready. Other than that, just have lots of activity suggestions on hand, and be gracious. A good houseguest will go out of their way to minimize their impact on your life.

Have a fantastic time! This is great!

P.S. We have Trader Joe's, too, and it's a very cool store, especially for European sensibilities...

my best advice? lock up your heart in a safe, bolt it securely, add some chains for extra security, and hide the key until they leave.

I'm trying, but I'll survive no matter what happens - just trying to have fun in the meantime...
