From what I've observed, yes. Apparently girls my age are supposed to go clothes shopping every couple of months or more. I go when I need to replace something... and not to replace something "out of style".

I'm also far more likely to spend less when I do go.

I probably spend less as well. I don't have any kids to buy things for and I only spend money on my special interests.

The typical person my age seems to live paycheck to paycheck whereas I usually end up with a few hanging out collecting dust.

yeah i spend way less but that is because i still live with my parents and have no social life. i dont go out, or drink, or smoke, i eat in and i have no car. i havent really bought clothes in years. i wear hand me downs. my cloths have little holes in them but i wont chuck them out. i guess the fact that i have no money also factors in. i dont work, i get an allowance when my parents remember.

Only if we are hoarding the money instead of speeding it like the rich do which contributes to inflation. Lots of us make less than the typical person due to our Aspie issues limiting us with employment opportunities

I've to spend less then my peers, because I only get so much for the " work " that I do in the house. It really doesn't bother me to be on a budget though. I like the knowledge of how to budget. 8)

I usually spend less than normal people spend due to not having a social life (eliminates the need to spend on amusement parks, going out to eat, movies, vacations, concerts, clubs, alcohol, parties, etc.) and not paying retail price for items for myself. The only time this may differ is during Christmas, where I tend to purchase the items people want the most (usually the most expensive on the list too). I also tend to tip more than normal due to the sense of guilt I have when people have to accomodate my dietary restrictions (it must feel like an avelanche of requests and alterations to the waitress/waiter) and when the poor sod comes to clean the tables. I dislike having people clean up my mess (I know, that's what they're paid to do, but nonetheless, I feel bad).

It's pretty hard not to wreck the economy when people won't hire us, because we're different. 8)

I don't tend to spend a lot on things at all. I do like to buy gaming stuff quite a bit, but will only buy when the price is low. Which is my attitude towards anything I buy. That mixed in with not being a socialite makes me quite comfortable when it comes to money.
