29 is...
...the approximate number of days in a lunar month,
...the number of letters in the Norwegian alphabet,
....the highest possible score in a hand of cribbage.

27 is the number of batters faced and retired by a pitcher completing a perfect game in baseball. I don't particularly like baseball, but the stat popped into my head for some reason.

Also apparently Uranus has 27 moons. 8O (Thanks Wikipedia!)

The Northrop YF-17 (nicknamed "Cobra") was a prototype lightweight fighter aircraft designed for the United States Air Force's Lightweight Fighter (LWF) technology evaluation program. The LWF was initiated because many in the fighter community believed that aircraft like the F-15 Eagle were too large and expensive for many combat roles. The YF-17 was the culmination of a long line of Northrop designs, beginning with the N-102 Fang in 1956, continuing through the F-5 family.

The YF-17 was basically an early prototype of the F/A-18's in use by the navy and marines today.

30 is just a dress-rehersal for 40 emotionally, physically I'm doing just fine though - I'm thinking that the physical beginning of old age must be 50...
