Second choice (I know: you said just one, but anyway...): I'd like to snap my fingers or clap my hands or say some magic words,
and everyone's hands within a 10 meter radius would instantly open, so they would drop whatever they were holding onto. :P

You already know which one I'd pick but Invisibility wohoo!

Modern science hasn't gotten even close to that ability.

Static electricity guy. I could go around zapping people and making their hair stick up.

I could keep my burrito hot in one hand, and keep my beer cold in the other. 8) Top THAT!

That's probably the most interesting superpower I've ever read about.

flight and invisibility. both would allow me to escape from the world and grant me freedom. and flying just sounds like a heap of fun.

the ability to enter peoples subconscious (especially, but not just during a dream) and alter perception, thoughts, introduce concepts

LIke making a person at the cash register like me with the same familiarity he or she would have towards a loved one he or she hasn't seen for a very long time, and not why he or she feels that way. I guess I could alter feelings on the fly, but actual beliefs and thoughts may need me to enter a dream so that the brain has more time to process it, I don't know.

Or... I'd pick to live forever through having infinite lifetimes - or in other words, I'd live out a full life with all the people I knew, die a normal death, be reborn into a new body, but to still keep my memories from the previous lifetime. To live forever as a 24 year old is to watch loved ones age and die and I could not do that, plus I'd be robbed of the ability to experience life from every perspective.

The power to create and control the thoughts & emotions in others without them realizing it.

Being able to influence other people with the wave of a finger.

I think the military has been working on some type of cloaking technology.....similar to how chameleons can change color and blend in to their surroundings, this new technology can do the same. I don't have a link at the moment, but I do remember reading about it a couple years ago. I think they said it would start being put into use sometime between 2014-2016?

***EDIT***

Ok, found a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloaking_device

It was active camouflage that I was thinking of. You're not 100% invisible like a ghost, but its pretty damn near close.

I'd like the power to control all the elements, personally.. like an avatar kind of thing.

Once mastered you could basically do just about anything.

Flying!!

I was also tempted to say the ability to travel back in time and 'fix' things I've screwed up, but knowing my luck, I'd probably just screw them up worse the second time around.

also was going to pick that. basically to be able to freely travel through space-time for as long as the space-time exists (so time travel + immortality :P )
