There should really be an option on here for both positive and negative effects.
As for me, it's been positive in the ways that it's helped me to learn more about myself and others who are either on the autistic spectrum or are at least pondrous about the possibility of it. And of course without this site I would never have met the person that has turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to me.
The one downside is that it's highly addictive. And there's far too often been the scenario of me having lots of important things to be doing in my life, but I haven't been able to peel myself away from the computer at all to sort them out, and whole days at a time can be pretty much wasted because I've been scrolling through the same old stale posts, just still staying here just in case something interesting happens and things liven up a bit. So I've often found myself frantically searching through an almost completely inactive website, just refreshing the same page over and over again for hours at a time, with the same result every time; nothing....
So I suppose everything has balanced out in terms of positivity and negativity, and I'm gradually starting to now need this place less and less. It's served it's purpose, but it's still nice to keep in contact with some people on here.
