I just remembered, I have described one man as beautiful before. It had nothing to do with his physical appearance, though. He's just a beautiful person... caring, strong willed, optimistic, unfazed by trivial matters... etc.

I don't describe physical appearance as 'beautiful', really. Not even women. To me, beauty is all about the soul.

I agree. Handsome is something you just are or aren't similar to the word pretty. Beautiful is something that you can be and implies awe and a sense of wonderment.

The concept of beauty makes as much sense as dividing by zero.

Oh yeah, I have. Many times. Brad Pitt, Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer.

But most of all, George Clooney! He is a walking perfection. Divine creature. Not of this Earth. Has a beautiful voice, beautiful face, beautiful body, a friendly soul. I have never ever seen a man whom I could describe as "beautiful", but he IS.

My older stepbrother is beautiful because he is a big blonde guy who would protect me if I got targeted by a street thug.

People are always calling me gay anyways so I might as well just say this.

I've known a couple of men I'd consider beautiful. They had quite feminine features, big eyes, fine boned, apple cheeks and full lips, but still obviously male-looking. They were very attractive men, but the adjective 'handsome' didn't really fit them IMO.

OTOH, handsome women are the opposite way round - strong features, small mouth, broad jaw and cheekbones, tall forehead. Strikingly attractive but not 'pretty'.

It's a matter of opinion, I tend to find slightly androgynous people to be the most attractive ones.

Yes. I generally prefer to use 'good-looking' for any gender, but sometimes I use 'beautiful'. I never use 'handsome', I hate that word.
I don't use 'attractive' since that would imply I would want to spend time with them simply because they look good, and I don't use 'hot' or 'sexy' since those would imply that I would want to have sex with them. I don't have that kind of feelings about people, if someone's good-looking/beautiful, they're simply pleasant to look at, like a scenery or a work of art.

If we are talking about appearance, I tend to think of a handsome man as having more masculine features and a beautiful man as having more feminine features. This is kinda silly since females used to be called handsome as well. But that's usually my view anyway, so Brad Pitt would be handsome Johnny Depp would be beautiful.
