That sounds like a good computer. The i7 is a very strong cpu and 8 gigs of ram is all good news. My 2500k is about as fast as your except you have hyper threading and mine doesn't.
What video card do you have?

That's okay man don't beat your self up for that. Hmm the 275 is a nice graphics card I assume you play some games?
Not bad for someone that dosent know much about computers.
When I bought my Pentium 4 2.80 GHz, 512 mb of ram I was such a ret*d n00b for not getting the AMD 64 cpu's not only that but the worst part was I was told the Intel GMA 9000 GPU from Intel was a good graphics card for games I stupidly believed the guy then I took the computer home and tried to play Half life 2 and I was like WTF?
Returned the computer back to MDG and asked them to put give me a better graphics card and luckily there was an empty pci express slot so they gave me a Radeon X700 256 mb for around 300 bucks.

Had a 27 inch iMac i7 with 12GB memory... Currently it's an iPhone...
I need to get a real one soon...

EW I really dislike mac's. Anyway you don't have a regular HDD?

No, I opted for the SSD option when I purchased it.

I never owned a SSD are they actually worth it or no?

Yup, definitely worth it. Much faster than hard disk.

Aswome! I might ask for one for Christmas.
Or what I might do is wait for the pci express SSD's to come down in price and buy one of those when there like about 200 dollars.

So this was a pissing contest?

... lame.

Not only was it a pissing contest, but he doesn't know what he's talking about or he'd understand that "good" is extremely relative when it comes to computers and that calling one computer "20% as good as another" is moronic. It's hard to think of any circumstances in which you could sensibly call one computer "N% as good as another"; suppose (and here following I am oversimplifying massively) for example I have two otherwise identical machines, one with a 500Gb HDD and another with a 1TB HDD, does having twice the storage space make the machine twice as good? Of course it doesn't (except in number2's imagination); unless and until you happen to be using that much space the machines are roughly identical (you might get slightly better disk speed with the bigger disk - or you might not); and the same goes (roughly speaking) for main memory over about 2Gb, processor cores over 2 and speeds over a couple of GHz, trivial variations in OS, graphics power beyond a certain level (once you can run something in max detail in hi-res smoothly, it doesn't matter how much extra power you have - and thanks to the retarding influence of games consoles' fixed hardware, most games require specs far below - like six years behind - what a current PC delivers), and so on.

On a simpler level, claiming that a desktop is "better" than a laptop - as he does - is comic. Just imagine toting the thing (and its 1.2kW toaster ^^) round with you at work or school or wherever...

I was just saying.
I was hoping someone would have like a server pc with two intel hex cores, tens of gigs of ram, 4 video cards a pci express SSD with a crazy power supply.
