My cat is a stray who sort of adopted us, and she is the friendliest Siamese mix I know. She has a white and black kitten who is a real scaridy cat, and she also had a black kitten, but I think it died :(. I love my cat, and she used to love me, but I think she is starting to hate me now as I have to keep putting her outside as my mom is alegeric to cats and she keeps scratching the furniture which we do not own, and I'm the best at catching her. She likes my bed and I'd love to just have her sleep there with me (as long as she doesn't bite), but it cannot be.

my mom is allergic to cats as well, but she is also a cat person. that's so sad about your cat, shaylin also loves to claw the chairs in the kitchen we own our furniture though, you could try clipping her claws not declawed but getting a cat claw clipper and snipping off the sharp ends, it won't stop her from clawing but it will make it harder for her to do damage to the furniture. first time we clipped kirby's claws he tried to do a run jump onto his scratching post but slipped and fell. he wasn't hurt but more confused then anything cocoa is more used to it. but cat's claw things to strip their sheading claws their claws shead in layers. not sure what to say about the allergies my mom deals with it by her own choice she just takes pills and what not to keep her allergies manageable.

The real sad part is we are going to have to leave her when we leave the country in under a year, and we need to figure out what we are going to do with her and her kitten, things aren't simple here as most people we know here live a very "nomadic" life style. We named the cats, and we feed them and give them veternarian services, but they are only sort of ours. The adult cat was probably a house cat which was abandoned, which makes me sad. I'm not sure claw clipping is a good idea as she might still need them.

Cats need their claws to run up trees to get out of harms way. I don't cut my cat's claws but what I did was stick double sided sticky tape to the chair he attempted to rip to shreds.

Cats don't like the sensation of having sticky paws so after a few attempts they give up.
He is now a very much reformed feline and only uses his scratching post. :)

our cats stay indoors pretty much all the time, every time we let a cat out in the past they always got hurt or died, kirby was attacked by the neighbors dog, spooky fluffy girly mow and tim, were all killed by mountain lions or bobcats. tim was buried alive. i wish we would have kept them inside from day 1. spooky died defending kirby which is the only reason he survived.

so i don't like letting cats outside.

my only bad memories from my arizona desert.

I can't see the picture (some kind of server error) but congratulations on rescuing her.

What you are doing is great. I would only ever get rescue cats. They haven't had a good start in life but they deserve to have a great cat life. Which I am sure yours now has.

this is the spoiled brat herself, i don't know what the renters called her so i just call her kitty. she seems to respond the best to kitty. i caught her playing with my stuffed monster trucks, and i gave her some tough love.

after that though i played with her with the laser light and pet her to let her know i still loved her, all while my sleeping meds were kicking in. but now i know i have to devote a few hours of my day to play with her.

oh and that is her spot on my bed, and she sleeps there every night, you can tell it is her's because her shedded fur is covering the spot.

She's beautiful! :) It's great to hear that you and your kitty are doing wonderful. I hate people who are like that with animals. I have a cat who was abandoned when she was a very small kitten, actually she was thrown out of a car while it was moving down a very busy street was what I was told happened by some store clerks. I found her in the back alley and it was freezing and she was so tiny and starving. She kept meowing at me and would start to follow me, then when I stopped she'd stop. She was so cute. I was told, that people were trying to catch her but no one could. I bought a small can of cat food and went back to the alley right away to fed her. She was so hungry, I got her and I brought her home and washed all the grease off of her. She had been getting up under vehicles to stay warm I think. She's been with me ever since and she is the sweetest cat too. For weeks, all she would do is eat, sleep and use the cat box, no playing either. I spoke to the vet about her the day I brought her home. She said that she would probably do that. She plays now too with my other cats. I named her Sterling but I call her Baby too.
