Fresh fruit or juice picks me up. But chocolate is the drug of my choice.

Thank you for the suggestions. They're good for the most part. Most of the suggestions are healthy. I look forward to seeing more suggestions. :)

I'm like the first to shove a fistful of broccoli, spinach, avocados, fruit, ^porridge, yogurt, etc. in my mouth for breakfast/lunch/dinner but honestly black coffee's the Only Thing that's genuinely capable of boosting my mood.

Fruits and vegetables don't seem to have any effect on my mood.
When I am hungry and feeling cranky, I require a significant source of protein to feel better.

Interesting... I sometimes crave a significant source of protein too. I get this weird sense to eat high protein/a craving, I get cranky and I'm usually feeling pretty crappy physically as well. It's usually because I haven't been eating right.

Usually something with meat and cheese does the trick.
Peanut butter also works well for me.

The only fruit I get something from is bananas.
But I usually don't keep them around because I'm really picky about them. They have to be perfect, no green, and no brown.

It's tough keeping fruit & vegetables around for someone living alone. I can only buy small quantities, or they go bad.
And I don't really bother with frozen veggies because most of the "good" stuff in them is lost in the freezing process.

Also french fries ("chips" for you brits) satisfy something unexplainable in me.
I love them, though they are really worse for me than the cheeseburgers, so I don't eat them all the time.

I have to watch the greasy stuff, my family has a history of blood & heart problems. my dad had quadruple bypass surgery at 49, then a triple at 63.

I'm the same way about bananas. Wow, that's not good.
