Sort of, it's an offshoot of it so to speak. The name "spasticity" is really "spastic" and "intensity" combined, the former being part of "autistic spazz", which is a term we use affectionately for each other on forums like i2 etc.

so what's the purpose of the spinoff, in the sense of what makes it distinct from IntensitySquared?

OK, if you're on paid hosting that's fine. It's just that purely free hosts have unreliable service and often randomly shut down. But if you've got proper paid hosting you're all good, as long as the site is reputable. And a proper domain is important if you want to be taken seriously, so I'd recommend doing that ASAP.

The whole point of the forum is to relax and have some fun, so being serious isn't my main priority. However the hosting site has been quite good so far, in the past I've ran several free forums on it without issue.
As for domains, I'll probably have a dotcom one up by next week.

It's distinct because unlike other aspie forums such as i2 etc, Spasticity does not focus on the condition. In other words, you will not find AS-related boards and the like. The whole point is for people to just chat, form friends and do whatever you want.

If anything it's more like a mix between i2 and ZOMG (which is now defunct).

As for moderation, there is a mod but his only purpose is to clean up spam and to notify if people are breaking TOS. Apart from that it's pretty open.

Ahh, so there is a TOS. The OP made it sound like it was completely unmoderated. An open forum with limited moderation is a different thing, and those work fairly well if you can get members to say on your site after the initial month of registration (which is harder than it sounds).

Indeed, I might join at some point. Whether or not I do, though, I wish you luck.

Sorry if I didn't describe it properly. I'm just trying to help a friend.

I am pretty much out of my depth when it comes to computery stuff :D

Seems like it because it's unmoderated and a place to be yourself.

No, why? If you read my posts you'd see why.

A name is only offensive if you let it offend you. If you take a name used against you and use it yourself, you deprive the name of its power. Words only have power because we give them power, and making them taboo only serves to increase that power.

Link is fixed. Having issues with the domain I just bought, so I reverted back to the normal link.

I2 has been going for 5 1/2 years and it's unmoderated (proof that unmoderated boards don't fall apart in 5 minutes).
