Anonymity and gender...

I mostly don't think about a person's gender online. A lot of the time when talking to people online I have no way to know their gender and never ask.

Here my username is gender neutral and my avatar kind of is. My avatar is male but I've seen people say they thought he was female when they first saw him.

Most of the time I don't really care what gender the people are on these forums when replying to their posts, it is (usually) irrelevant except in case of needing to use personal pronouns he/she his/her.

And yes, it's hard to tell online. Especially here. Most Aspies are gender-neutral.

I usually assume WP users are human. I've known enough trans and androgyns to just automatically assume someone is a "they" until I know what they themselves want to be addressed as. Until then it's "they" or "that human." I don't recall having pondered the gender of any WP users. Maybe I should switch from human to "Sapient" in case there's any dolphins or aliens using WP.

yeah.i'm usually intentionally(or unintentionally) gender ambiguous on the net. the only place i have my gender specified is facebook and here but people still think im a bloke because thats the default gender. it doesnt really bother me since i like my anonymity. i dont make assumptions about the gender of others.
