I did make funny faces, but it was due to the drilling sound. He had to take out the old filling and put in new one. He use a natural tooth color filling so I can't tell I have it. I had this filling done in Jan 2004 which was silver. But the filling is so deep. Now he told me if I am still sore after 2 weeks, I may need root canal. He told me that he has done root canals in teenagers too. I always though people over 40 or so need them. I'm not even 40. My fillings I had done at 12 are still fine! But those were on the side of tooth and nothing that major. Does anyone use mouthwash? I got ACT. I do floss every day too. I also got a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Mom has sensitive teeth too.

I'm going to change my dental coverage whenever we are up for renewal with the company. I got the Delta Dental Basic which covers some, but only 50%. Now if I go to enhanced then its 90% for root canals and fillings, and 60% for crowns. It will cost more, but not sure how much.

:( My mouth feels so sensitive and tingly. :( I may need root canal, but my insurance will only cover 50%. It's expensive though right? $1000 US if not more?

I don't fear it as much as I used to but I still don't much like doing it. It's just one of life's necessities I guess.

I've never had my teeth cleaned in my life. I never had a root canal, crown, fillings, or braces either. I had some kind of caps when I was a kid but they sedated me then.

I quit going to the dentist when I was seven and only went back several years ago to get several teeth pulled because I was in agony. At first they talked about sedating me and doing them all at once but then they ended up doing them one at a time, one per visit.

They wanted to give me a bunch of fillings (I think 11) but I didn't go back for them. I didn't want to run up even more bills that I wouldn't be able to pay. I have no insurance and no money. I just wanted to be out of pain. Since I was a charity case I'm sure it would have been amalgam fillings. I don't know if I believe in the stuff about them being dangerous but I still don't want them.

Ever since I switched from Sensodyne back to Crest Pro Health, using the sensitive mouthwash, I feel better. No more of that tingly feeling. I think also its been 2 weeks since I had the refilling. Dad said that since it was deep filling, it can take up to 2 weeks to feel better, because that's how long it took him to feel better. But each of us is different. I just hope later on I don't need root canal. I can chew foods fine on the side the dentist did the refilling.
