The point being that there are many, many British accents in the UK, Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories but that most people don't speak like that plummy, upper-class Received Pronunciation speak that you'd expect. Some of us sound, well, Northern.

I would post a video of my voice here but I don't want to embarrass myself. ;)

With all of these meet ups happening between my favourite wp people, I have come to the conclusion that I am not only on the wrong planet, but the wrong continent :?

Meetups seem like one big sensory and overwhelming mess ("what do you mean, meeting people?" "That's alien, man."). Don't listen to me though, as I'm Dill, a total buzzkill.

It was a great day and I'd love to all meet up again soon!

By the way Ten, you missed an hour of me staring at the Plesiosaur and boring everyone with lectures. :P

It was great though, the first of it's kind to ever be discovered (genus and species). It was also one of the most complete and best preserved plesiosaur skeletons ever found too! They managed to get a cast of the braincase too by scanning it. I was fascinated.I love Percy!
http://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/your ... lesiosaur/

They didn't have any "Percy" merchandise in the shop (I asked if they did, they said it was a good idea but they didn't have any), but I managed to get a plesiosaur postcard with a photo of a lifesize model that was displayed above Percy's skeleton.

By the way, you asked why the Tyrannosaurus was named "Stan". It was named after the discoverer of the skeleton, and it's the second most complete Tyrannosaurus ever found!

^^ Oh dear, I do not believe that this was boring at all rabbitears. I believe that I really enjoyed listening to happy facts concerning many matters.

^^ Greetings AnnettaMarie. I believe that from left to right this is: MONKEY, rabbitears, TenPencePiece, Tomasu.

I am very sorry if I this was of horrible of me to specify. ^^ I believe that I enjoyed a very lovely time and this was very lovely to meet MONKEY and TenPencePiece and rabbitears. However I am very sorry that I was very horrible and not very skilled for driving.

Just managed to duplicate a post a made yesterday somehow.

Anyway, good times, good times. And we should do it again seeing as Manchester is easy to get to from Stoke, and Tomasu doesn't live too far away either.
Trafford Centre next time? We went there but only spent about 45 minutes there, so we need a whole day really, yesterday was a bit rushed there.

I'm glad you had a good time. I couldn't have come anyway but it would have been nice to have been made aware of. I feel like the fat kid who is always picked last at football now. ;)

I made it private and only invited a few people I knew from Facebook. I didn't want a load of random strangers turning up.
