That was last year, but it hit me pretty hard. I applied for Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and I did pretty well in the interview, plus having some recognitions at the national level, but that didn't cut it. Turns out there were around 150 rooms for 4000 international applicants but... I really thought I'd make it.
I'm still in a very good university here in Colombia, but it really was a disappointment.

On a side note, I've always wondered what mathematics would be like if our system were base pi instead of base ten. Pi would then be represented by "1." Would that then mean that all other numbers end up becoming never ending decimals?
