Yeah I can see it from my house. Has to be the top floor though because there are too many trees in the way.

No, but there are plenty of lakes here in Minnesota. :)

It's an hour on the bus (from Aurich to Emden) for me if I want to see the ocean. It's the Atlantic ocean though, not the Pacific ocean, and it looks rather unspectacular :) I rather spend my time at the Ems-Jade canal, which is a ten minute walk or two minute biycle ride from where I live.

Not quite, but I do live in a coastal city. It's about a 5-10 minute drive to the ocean one way, and 15-20 minutes another two ways.

No the ocean from where I work is separated by 30 miles of hills and mountains but I can smell it sometimes when it rains. I wish I could though I would be calm all the time and happy for some weird reason the ocean always makes me happy and calm like nothing else matters.

I'm only a five minute walk from the river foreshore and 3km away from the beach. There's also a canal about 50m away but I can't see it from my house.

I can't see anything from work either, though again the estuary is just down the end of the street.

yeah. i live near a river mouth. unfortunately the beach where i live has an oil refinery and other forms of industry in it. the area is ecologically sensitive and has meaning for aboriginal people. the river had huge pollution issues a while back- you couldnt swim in it or fish or farm oysters. jelly fish would wash up dead on the shore. the bushland part is nice at least.

No, I wish I could though. I love vacationing at the beach where I can look out a window and see the surf below---so soothing and refreshing. I also like staying at places next to rivers---like in Cherokee, NC where a number of hotels line the river. And of course, big lakes are nice peaceful places too. The only water I have near where I live is in the ditch running in the front yard---oh, and the swimming pool.

There's no beaches or oceans around for quite a ways. We have swamps instead

Yes, even though we're about 15 miles inland, I can see the Pacific Ocean, and it's what I'd call a "postcard scene"... I see Anacapa, San Miguel and Santa Rosa Islands in the distance with the ocean at Port Hueneme in the foreground from our driveway, and would be able to see it from the kitchen window if it weren't for a stand of eucalyptus trees blocking the view from the house. I even spot large cruise ships at night, which you can't miss, as they have about gigawatt of lighting.
