I have a tv so i can play animal crossing and watch euronews and sometimes discovery and national geographic and over here we do have several shows i do enjoy watching, like House, but mostly its just rewinds in this season, but i would have issues playing games on my old xbox and wii if i didn't have a tv, and i also hate watching tv on my computer, i tried it and the quality etc wasn't good for me and it took way too long to load :o

So having a tv is nice if you ask me, but its also nice if you can do without and it saves money :)

The only show I watch is Breaking Bad, and I've watched all four seasons and am awaiting the final season. I can't watch any other shows, they insult my intelligence/require far too much suspension of disbelief/are just boring. Well, I enjoyed the first two seasons of Prison Break but that was years ago now, and that had its problems too.

The show reminds me of Dostoyevsky. The characters are completely three dimensional. There are no 'good' or 'evil' people. And it has plenty of badass moments and smart humor. Also, there have never been any serious plot mistakes.

We have TVs but they are only for watching movies or playing video games as we got rid of cable a few years ago. Any shows that I'm into (not many) I just download from the internet.

This is why I love the internet. Don't have to pay for TV, and don't have to put up with the ads made by clearly ret*d people.

Picking shows to watch that you like is somewhat different than just having the TV on all the time. I like my radio.

Yep. I have trouble sitting still and staying focussed for long enough too :D - I think people can get a lot more out of actually do things and thinking about things themselves or reading on the internet or something than from watching TV

Ironically, TV sets are my longest-time special interest. Been collecting them since I was 9 years old, and have had as many as 300 at any time. But my interest is in the TV sets themselves, and in the technology; not what is watched. I like to restore and repair vintage TV sets from the 1940s to 80s, and I have a several dozen of them right now in the house, but I think only 2 are connected to satellite to be useable. The rest of them all work fine, but are not connected. I don't watch TV other than the morning news, and I only have that on in the background. Haven't watched a regular prime time show in probably 15 years.

I'm the same way. I am never not doing something long enough to make it worth the money to purchase a television. I also find televisions to be rather distracting as well. If I want to watch a particular show, I'll just bring food (and occasionally booze) to a friend's house and watch it there.

My TV hasn't been plugged in for a few years. I just got rid of it when i moved and I don't plan on getting another one. If I want to watch something, I'll watch it online. I rarely watch any TV programs anyway besides Mythbusters and How It's Made.

Love BB. The character development is brilliant. There is not one main character who does not go through deep development as the plot unfolds (except the conspicuously static Walter Junior, who begins to look more and more strange as the show proceeds and he does not).

To my mind it is without doubt, the best drama ever produced. Period. Either for film or television.

TV is so different to me than it was 5 or 6 years ago and even then it was different. I just recently got a small HD tv last year to play video games on, no cablebox for my room yet and I doubt I'll ever get one. You can buy all the best tv shows on dvd or bluray now and you can record and replay shows now, it just seems weird. History Channel is nothing but ancient alien BS or stuff about bigfoot. Does the Discovery channel even exist anymore? Seems like there are 2-3 versions of every channel now, like with Nick.
I like the HD nature documentaries, I saw one about beavers a few years ago and thought that was cool. I never keep up with tv anymore. If a show sounds good I'll just buy the dvd collection so its just the occasional documentary.

I generally don't like TVs. I enjoy certain action films, documentaries that I am interested in and Top Gear. All of this can be accessed online for a smaller fee. I can never go outside my room or the basement in my house because the TV is almost always on with my sister watching some Disney channel show with very bratty girls in it or my father is watching some ridiculous "reality" TV series or crime show. This really ends up isolating me even more from my family, it's really sad that I can almost never come out of my room or the basement because I want to read and the family wants to spend and inordinate amount of time watching ridiculous TV shows. I just wan't quiet in the house. It's so nice when they are not home or the two hours or so in the morning that I get before anyone else wakes up. I am not letting a TV in my house when I grow up.
