"aint" actually is in the dictionary now... Go look it up in any online dictionary, or any dictionary printed sometime earlier then 2005? I think?

And I think people that take Grammar and Politeness (Or usually the varying degrees of lack there of) need to bend over and pull the stick outta their ass.... If human life was meant to be serious and "Proper" all the time, we wouldn't have Keg Parties (Or just kegs for most of us here Im sure) and episodes of Jack Ass......

@Sylkat:
I totally agree..... Welcome the U.S. Rated 14th internationally for Academic achievement. Aint we a great nation? And now were gonna pay corporations to make our kids dumb instead of letting the government do it for free (Mostly)!

When I was in second grade and had a dictionary with ain't in it that was in 1982 or 1983. That dictionary was old too because we had it in our house for a while and I think I remember my mother saying she had it from when she was in school.

"Yes" versus "yeah" is not a question of grammar. It's a question of slang versus proper speech.

Proper grammar is not an indication of how polite you are. It is an indication of how educated you are in the English language.

"I think that you are an utter moron, and furthermore, I wish you would die so that my friends and I could be happy," is grammatically correct.

"Youse are all great persons. Will one of youse4 please pass the butter?" is not.

Which one is more polite?

It is apparently very important to say "Yes" instead of "Yeah". Especially if you want to win the "Miss United States" pageant.
Just ask "Gracie Heart" of "Miss Congeniality". :P

I'd be tempted to start answering "indubitably," instead of yes, but could say "unequivocally," or "precisely."

Then again, maybe I'd feel like answering in different languages.

oui
ja
hai
da

My first-grade teacher was the same way. If you dared to say "yeah," she would lecture you on how "yeah" was for hillbillies, disrespectful thugs and the uneducated.

"Lehrer" (oder "Lehrerin") is a noun, therefore it is to be capitalized.
