Usually, I don't really see anything good about society as a whole.

Actually, it seems more common nowadays for even the youngest adolescent — sometimes even pre-adolescent — murderers and rapists to be tried and sentenced as adults. I wouldn't be very surprised if the idea of juvenile court is abolished in my lifetime.

I don't feel contempt for society as such, but for the powers that be that keep everyone so busy and worked up about things that they don't have time to think things through, be themselves instead of always trying to impress someone, and stop struggling to get ahead. I have a lot of faith that people, if left to their own natures, are pretty good for the most part and want what's right. But we are under massive manipulation politically and commercially, as well as from organized religion. I think that takes its toll.

Yes! How can you not? I have been limiting myself from the outside world, not watching news, not leaving the house, etc. I can't even visit the yahoo homepage or I will see something that is horrible and gets me upset.
