Ongoing research very strongly suggests that they are most likely the result of automobile headlights and campfires reflecting off of ordinary thermal inversion layers in the atmosphere. Since this type of event - also known as a 'mirage' - has been proven to be both real and natural in other location (deserts, in particular), the only mystery is why anyone would choose to believe otherwise.

What I want to know is how they get those pennies into those little glass bottles they sell at souvenir stands:



A similar mystery is how they get those wooden arrows to go through glass bottles without shattering the glass:

I've always been morbidly fascinated by unsolved serial killer cases, i.e. Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac Killer. The Black Dahlia murder is another one that's always intrigued me too.

Not sure to what extent I believe in the paranormal (I'm one of those "have to see it to believe it" type people), but there was an episode of Ghost Adventures not too long ago where they visited a reputedly haunted forest in Romania called the Hoia Baciu Forest. I always try to take paranormal investigation shows at face value because it's so easy to fake evidence these days, but some of the stories and stuff that they had apparently experienced had me legitimately creeped out.
