I'd like to meet Robert Frost to see what he's like in person compared to the way he writes. Just a cup of coffee or whatever people talked over in his day. I don't think I could take being reunited with deceased family or friends for just a day.

To hang with for a day.

Mark Twain.

George Bernard Shaw, and Oscar Wilde, tied for second.

Hunter S. Thompson

He would be a sensory overload, but he would not need my emotional input, just bring me along for the ride. We could chat sports, politics and gonzo journalism. However, I think I could tolerate more over the mojo wire (his term for a fax machine).

What a wonderful choice...Satie...one of my favorites. A day with Satie...ahh...the eccentricities. I can see it now. A gift of an umbrella would be appreciated for the collection. And, anything eaten must be white---you know...potatoes, cauliflower, hominy, fish, meat fat, ground up bones, etc. And now for a Gymnopedie or two...or three.

Peter Kropotkin. At some point between his return to Russia[USSR] and his death but while absolutely lucid.

My reasoning is that I would like to discuss his theories and compare notes concerning the world today, this would of course require his believing my story of time travel and understand the world I describe - 24 hours is not long to do all this in.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge or Shakespeare.

Definitely family. Specifically, probably my grandfather. Non family? Maybe Tesla.. or Issac Newton.

My dad. He died when I was 13 and I didn't get to know him very well before that. I would have liked to known him now that I'm a man.

Philip K. Dick

1981

Mostly just talk about Science Fiction in general or some of his views on Religion especially Taoism. Right now i'm halfway through VALIS so I'd ask about that. I'd ask about films at that time. Apparently, when Star Wars came out the main thing he liked about it was The Force.

Inevitably, some conversations about drugs would come up. I would be very curious if he was familiar with DMT. I'm sure he did LSD.

Another idea would be to go back to 1960 and tell Joe Meek what was going to happen to him and how he could avoid it. Then I would return home to 2013 and go on iTunes straight away and look for songs that didn't get to exist.

You really need to get hold of The Exegesis, which contains part of Dick's journals detailing his visionary experiences. My husband is a big PKD fan, and he's been working his way through them, but he says it's a really odd bunch of stuff to get your head round, even for anyone already familiar with Dick's work. You'd probably appreciate it.

I would hang out with info-dump and stalk for a whole day either of the following:
Leonardo Da Vinci
Isaac Newton
John R R Tolkien
