Nobody's mentioned these guys:

I know they're not dead, but they soon might be, and I the can resurrect them. Then they will be "The Living Dead."

I believe there was a "no fictional character" rule... so unless you're talking about Matt Stone and Trey Parkman...

I submit:

Unknown -- for his PSOTing skills and for being such a GREAT "role model" for all of teh "MTV" haters across teh U.S. Nation...
Jameson -- His "shell scripts" would make my life "more liveable" & "enjoyable"...
Sean Hannity -- He could show me how to be a "Good American"...
Rush Limbaugh -- Tell me how to get my own "dittocam"...
Starbuline -- Help me get along with Russian tennis players...
Hale Bopp -- Take me for "a walk on the wild side"...

I think that rather then "saving the world" these group of guys/gals will likely end up getting into a big war over what is really most important.

I chose my team from the greatest atheists and rationalists of all time and similarity in political views. Once they get over the shock of the 21st century (Mostly Paine and Jefferson) They could easily be put into an elite unit dedicated to saving science and rationality. H.G. Wells might be a problem if he tries 'The Shape Of Things To Come" but Jefferson and Paine are the brightest of the group and there to make sure he stays in line. Twain would keep their spirits up by writing a witty joke or two.

my team.

me- I'm a ninja.

Ben Frank-weird inventions

Edison: created the telephone, imagine if he could create a device to hack into enemy comm.

Bill Gates: has lots of money and knows computers

Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks: cannon fodder

Jerry Springer: probably could get the enemy to talk about their problems and end up destroying each other.

Tesla: his coils would work wonderful

President Kennedy: Charm.

John Wilkes Booth: he was an assassin, we need good snipers and whatnot

Martin Luther King: He was a great leader.

Hoover: brilliant man, that and he went to my college.
