I went through the same thing. I know I got to clean everywhere on the body, but cleaning my belly button never entered my mind for some reason. My belly button started getting dirty around age 14, and a few years later I noticed there was a grey lump inside my belly button, and I kept trying to get it out using Q-tips and soap and soothing cream, but it wouldn't get it out and it felt so uncomfortable poking about in my belly button too, so I just left it. Then, a few months ago, when I finally got asked on a date by the man of my dreams, I decided I just had to sort my belly button out, so I did the best I could and I finally got the grey lump out and got it all cleaned. The grey lump must have been a build-up of whatever got built up in there.

In Beltsville Maryland, right outside of the nation's capital, we have a whole big installation devoted to combating the 'horrors of the belly button"!

Its called "the Naval Surface Weapons Lab".

I thought that was where they developed and tested weaponized oranges. Sorry--I just had to.

That belly button hair picture was so disgusting, how did that happen, how deep does a person's belly button go to produce that?

I haven't pulled anything disgusting out of my belly button, but maybe mine is not deep enough for something to live in.

I wish I had an outie or less-innie belly button. I'm guessing it all just accumulated in there over a long time. I was never outright taught that I needed to clean my belly button.

I was just watching a video of black umbilicus getting popped out by a doctor on YouTube. I've decided not to post the video here.

I was getting ready to watch it after I looked at some pictures. But then I started to think about how horrible it would be if I got that and I almost fainted. Which has never happened to me before.

Oh um, I kind of thought this was about back when they wouldn't even show someone's belly button on TV. I think it's kind of silly that they wouldn't, what's so offensive about a belly button? Because it's a reminder of once being inside a uterus, maybe? Anyway, I'm a little sorry I even went on this forum... 8O
