I could never get clean in four minutes, but I take baths. I soak in the hot water for a while before scrubbing, and I do mean scrubbing every in of my body with soap. By the time I am finished the water is cloudy. Then I use the shower head to rinse my bathwater off. Been known to spend a couple of hours in the bath, 1/2 hour if I hurry.

166 seconds it just took me. That included washing my hair and shaving my legs.

It didn't include getting dries and dressed.

I don't see any need for dragging it out.

That is ULTRA-FAST>>>>

With myself, no matter how hard I try I cannot get it under 10 minutes. Yet, my water supply company say it should only take 4 minutes.

Does it make a difference with water meters if the water is isn't on full blast or if you don't shower every day? The only way I could clean with that little time of water is if I turn the water off 1ce I wet my hair to put the shampoo on & spent the rest of the time just rinsing out my hair. I'd then have to put the washcloth under the faucet to get it wet & wipe my body with that with no water running instead of using the running water of the shower to help clean m body.

I forgot to mention another factor of shower time with me is if I'm feeling really tired(I don't move as fast) or if my body is sore because I'll let my body soak under the hot water to help.

Hi nick007, that is a brilliant idea :D

Get the flannel wet, then get wet myself, and then turn the shower off.
Put shower gel on the flannel. Wash all over. Then turn the water back on to rinse it all off.
Then wet hair. Turn shower off. Put shampoo on hair. Lather it, then turn shower back on, and rinse hair.

Save water, save money, and help save the planet at the same time.

It takes me at least 20 minutes to take a shower, unless I skip steps. After reading what nick007 wrote, I've decided to put my own variation on the "don't-leave-the-water-running-the-entire-time-you're-in-the-shower" technique.

About 5

I hose my arms off before I come in from outside, so that cuts down on a lot of the dirt so I don't have to spend as long in the shower.

I pour soap over my head and work down with the same.

Apparently, I'm a little faster than I thought. 26 min incuding shaving and towelling off.
I went as fast as I could, it felt like I was racing.

Of note though, if I shave my head and/or face, that adds about another 10 minutes to it.

That seems like the most time consuming part of typical grooming (shaving that is).

Usually about thirty minutes. Maybe forty-five if I blow-dry my hair, in which case it will look like I strolled right out of the 70s. :afro:

I usually leave the water running because it's easier & there aren't water restrictions & I never had a water bill; my parents paid it when I lived with them & water is included at the apartment I live in now thou they say to try & conserve. It can be difficult to get the water temperature & force like I like & I would waste water trying to get it rite when I turn it back on. I did use that don't leave water on technique when I had to conserve hot water which thankfully wasn't often; like when the power was out after a hurricane & the water heater still had hot water in the tank or when the water heater was having problems.

8O How? It takes me 20-30 min to do a proper job, ten if if I don't care if I get razor burn or miss patches.

It takes me a 20 min to a half hour if I don't shave my legs, 30-40 min if I do. And this is after a MASSIVE improvement in the last couple years. It used to take me an hour and half.

yes, I mean I only do it every month to six weeks (and I am thinking of giving it up entirely) but still takes forever

and I love to just feel the water run over me, so even after I get clean I stand and enjoy the shower
