4 of my own. Facebook, pinterest, youtube and WP. My mom keeps her own tabs open at all times, she has 8.

4 is my usual. That's how many firefox can take before it starts squishing the tabs and that's about how many my connection can handle.

I usually don't go above 8-10, I lose track of what I was doing. Besides, in an Indian family you don't have the perfect isolation that lets you drift forever with your browsing, so I try to keep the tabs within limit. When I was single I used to have more tabs open, but now I just don't have that luxury.

15, I don't understand how people can either keep track of hundreds or even keep their machine up as long as it takes to open them ever since I have Windows 8 the piece of crap blows up every 6 hours and I have to reboot a minimum of twice a day.

I usually have two different forums, Facebook Twitter, two types of dictionaries and a survey site and Netflix, plus I have a permaculture course and a language course open and my email.

I have 5 open right now. My SL forum, WP, sl.feeds, FB and ASD Community.

I try to have no more than 6 or 7 since the more tabs the more memory Firefox uses. Force of habit even with 8GB of RAM I have now.

whoa! some of you must have very good computers to have that many tabs open and still be functional. I have 3 open and if get past 7-10 there is a good chance of having to use the Windows task manager. I also watch how many I have open to conserve bandwidth and keep the internet bill low.
