I don't think this will ever happen.

I consider the dark side to be the embedded scripts that corporations, such as google or facebook especially, have on virtually every web page. Or how about the locational information few people think anything of sharing from there smartphone. Or technology such as google glass for instance. An ever more encompassing collection of information is combining with a virtually limitless storage of such information. Quantum computing development may render all encryption useless. Now develope better automated crime detection software with access to darn near omnipotent knowledge. Big brother just got much more effective than anything dreamed of in dystopian novels. I could even see the eventual automation of psychology evaluations that flags certain people as needing to come in for an examination and adjustment of meds aimed at creating a more productive and safer society. Even if computers never develope independent ai they will allow a relatively small number of experts to focus on the results of incomprehensibly immense evaluations of nearly everyone and everything. These experts in turn will either be on the payroll of corporations or lobbied by them. Of course much of this is speculation, but I don't see it being that unlikely considering current trends.

I was taught in a computer application course I took in high-school that computers are considered to be perfect but the humans who use them & fix them are not. I think any technology that is computer related will be considered perfect & thus have no dark side but the humans involved may not be perfect & cause problems so therefor it is humans who will be responsible for the dark side instead of the technology itself.

That would be the dark side of people, not the dark side of technology. Technology is inanimate and has no light and dark or any morality because it has no sentience. Technology is a tool that can be used for different intents but like guns, hammers, rocks, pen and ink, etc, it has no morality, so no light and no dark.

Worlds different." She allowed herself a frosty smile, "Robots are essentially decent."
