How can you not like the DS? The DS is ace! And there are plenty of good games for it. Plus it's fun to play with friends.

The thing is that she can't do ANYTHING with the DS apart from play the games she doesn't enjoy. It's about as fun as a brick that goes 'bloop' every so often.

I use my DS every now and then to play Kirby or Nintendogs and when Spirit feels like playing we play Animal Crossing together. Not so bad~ I want one of the new pokemon games though ;^;

There are some great games on it, you just gotta make sure you get good ones.
Metroid Prime Hunters and Advance Wars Duel Strike are pretty good. I've never played it, but I've heard good things about Final Fantasy III. Just depends if they're out in your area yet.
And why won't online work?

Her online won't work because she can't afford a router.

Let's put it this way: Her parent's financial state is such that RedMage has to go over to Nanna's for dinner because her parents couldn't afford that much food.

EDIT: Plus their car got stolen

It get's pretty crap, yeah. You're probably wondering how she got a DS and a PS2. I believe the DS was a gift, and the PS2 they got from a friend of theirs. Oh, and she can't sell the DS because her Mum bought it and won't let her sell it.
