Last I checked, the first recorded evidence that spaceships were "circular" were from accounts of eyewitnesses from Roswell, New Mexico in the 1940s.

The Bible has nothing to do with space. People who wrote the Bible such as Luke and Ezekiel happened to fixate on supernatural events like encounters with angels.

I'd laugh in the aliens' faces.

I was just about to ask what the painting was.

This painting is called "The Madonna with Saint Giovannino". It was painted in the 15th century by Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449-1494) and hangs as part of the Loeser collection in the Palazzo Vecchio. Above Mary's right shoulder is a disk shaped object. Below is a blow up of this section and a man and his dog can clearly be seen looking up at the object.

Maybe he just dropped a bit of paint and decided to get inventive with the blot.

that is creative conjecture for sure :wtg: but I wonder why he had the man and his dog staring at it then, unless it was in recollection of something he had seen in real life or something that was common knowledge in his milieu?

Well, to me, it looks as though the object is behind where the man is looking.

well, you might have a point, there was a trio of angels on the left side of the painting, hovering in the sky, also. it reminds me of when I saw a UFO over lake spanaway in 2007, and everybody else was obliviously playing in the water and I was the only person who noticed it - that is, other than the 3 air force fighter jets that chased it with afterburners on- it went upwards for a bit, then just disappeared!

The hairy flying saucer must be Saint Giovannino.
