I just went ahead and refunded her. It was clearly broken. I'm pretty sure it was not fixable. Even the handle broke.

Bummer. I guess this was one case where the buyer was honest. Hopefully they don't leave a neutral or negative feedback rating because that would count as a defect on your selling profile for a whole year. At least you have this bit of experience and can learn from it for any future situations.

Wonder how it got broken? Since you wrapped it in multiple layers of bubble wrap, the post office must have been beyond cruel to the package.
