I have fond memories of Radio Shack from my youth.

I used to love riding my bike down to the local store when I was young. I remember building my first crystal radio (and spooling the copper wire around a discarded toilet paper roll). And, then there was the 100-in-1 electronics kit. My best memory is when my lifelong friend and I each purchased a 2-channel walkie talkie (Radioshack Realistic 2-Channel Walkie-Talkie TRC-25A Transceiver). If I remember they were ~ $29.95 back then (probably in the early-to-mid 1970s), which would be a small fortune nowadays. We each had saved up for several years for this special purchase.
