For some strange reason last night I had to read all about meals made with offal (the guts and inner organs of butchered animals) that are eaten -and enjoyed- by people all over the world. Vegetarians might not want to read any of it, and the pictures they had were pretty cringeworthy. I learned that the phrase to make someone eat "humble pie" originally came from an actual pastry called umble pie, which had the entrails of animals, usually deer, and was eaten by peasants. Yum?

It sounds a bit like like something I read about on TV Tropes where some people eat a dish that is so disgusting, unpleasant, or even dangerous that the only reason they eat it is so they brag about it later... if they live. Like Japanese blowfish or lutefisk. Apparently some guys eat it because it makes them look tough and manly. I guess something so stupid would *have* to be, wouldn't it?

I was on Toonpedia, where I was reading about some of the old cartoon characters that have pretty much faded into obscurity. Especially Terry Toons. As a kid I got to see them on video and thought they were awesome, but compared to other cartoons of that era such as, say Disney, they were pretty lame. Lots of forgettable "funny animal" characters... except for maybe Mighty Mouse, Deputy Dawg and Heckle and Jeckle - those two trouble-making magpies. Well *I* remember them, so that means they aren't forgotten! :D

Amateur brewer here. It's not strictly speaking wine, but that's the closest analogue in terms of strength and taste. It's also extremely deceptive, so drink it slowly if you have any. Also, most stuff sold as "mead" at faires and the like is actually honey-flavoured white wine (and tastes terrible). Real mead should not taste like honey any more than real wine tastes like grapes. [/mini-rant]

On Topic: "Klotz" ( a violin maker from Mittenwald, Germany). I'm a complete musical novice looking to learn the violin, and as usual going completely overboard with the research. :)

Flatulence. I've been gassy for a while now & I'll be taking a two day bus trip in alittle less than a month so I want to know about treatment.

I looked up "plot hole", since that phrase seems to be used more than ever these days. It gave some examples of plot holes, such as the Ninja Turtles are much larger and taller than most humans but they always have enough space in sewers and manholes. And the Power Rangers often leave in the middle of a school day to fight evil but no one seems to notice that the school's top students are missing.

Heck, Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers have more plot-holes than a sheep has wooly hairs. Like the Turtles always have money for pizza but none of them have jobs. I guess they find money that's been accidentally dropped into it but that that still can't be enough to buy pizza every day. and an old episode of Power Rangers had Kimberly the Pink Ranger had to be given instructions to land an ordinary single-engine plane when she flies a big mechanical pteradactyl!

I've been watching a section dealing with the Warsaw Ghetto from the 9 hour 1985 documentary film Shoah. I wikied Heinz Auerswald, the Nazi Commissar who ran the place, but the information given was pretty sparse.
