Balut. (WARNING: DO NOT GOOGLE THIS WORD. SERIOUSLY FOR THE EASILY CRINGED ONES)
 I like it's soup, and the yolk is good but it isn't any different from the regular everyday's eggs. Best served with salt in my own taste.

But the embryo itself.. No, just no. I avoid those. I avoid looking at those things. I get those things out as soon as I see the sight of it. Whenever I would like one, I kept asking the seller to sell me less developed ones (smaller embryo means more yolks instead).

I can't blame the sellers at my place. Really...

"Why"? Aside from the cultural part, and it's unconventional ways to finding certain tastes...

I still see those jelly beans that are like Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans from Harry Potter, except now they have a different name that I can't remember. I even saw some kind of game where you have a spinner and eat a bean that goes with the color, I think, and of course you can't always tell just by the color if it's something good or terrible.

Honestly, who would actually want to eat jellybeans flavored like vomit and earwax?! I mean, candy doesn't usually have any real nutritional value so the reason for eating it would mainly be that it tastes good and is fun, not torture. Anyway, if your kids actually eats such things they better not complain about vegetables or whatever you serve them for dinner.

Pig brains are pretty common in Alabama. My grandfather used to eat them in his scrambled eggs. I hated how they smelled when my grandmother was cooking them. They are on the menu in some breakfast places out in the country. They are also sold in most supermarkets in cans over by the Spam and stuff. Also, some people down here like pig ears. You see that on the menu in BBQ places a lot. I've never had that.

One of the grossest to me though, that is common here is chitlins. That is pig intestine. It's really gross. They come in big buckets over in the meat department. You have to clean them out because there is still poop inside them usually. No.

It's because you're a bunch of unadventurous lightweights. :)

Beanboozled! That's the name of those nasty jelly beans! And of course they're not a delicacy, just some novelty candy.

Off topic a titch, but Kaiser of California presented some interesting demographic statistics about their patients at IMFAR 2015. The one the stuck out in my mind was that individuals with ASD were generally overweight. Hm! :)
