Snails have to be cooked quite precisely. If done nicely, they taste like lobster, with a similar texture. If overcooked, they're chewy, which ruins the experience.

I was wondering when you'd notice. That was fun.

It is a cute little snail. I think his name is Gary, and I think he says meow.

Ok if Gary is just a common garden snail how do I attract him to the desert so I can make a pet of him? Would leaving out bowls of water help? I do have daffodils growing outside at the moment, but Gary has not appeared. :(

Don't name your snails before you have them.

Snails don't like desert. You are going to have to import them (which might
just be illegal). Snails like wet.

My mother found that beer would attract snails. Drown them too. If you have
snails, and don't mind them dead, put beer out for them.

The Romans ate snails, but present-day Italians aren't as crazy about them as the French are. The French have almost hunted them into extinction, but the Italians have not. There is San Giovanni's feast day, though, on June 24, and that particular saint's symbol is the snail, for God knows what reason. To celebrate his feast day, Italians go crazy for snails. But the rest of the year, you don't see much snail consumption.
8O how am I supposed to know...

Why would people want to drink milk squeezed from a cows udders or eat pigs when they eat their own droppings... It either tastes good or People are just weird <_<;;;?

People will eat all sorts of weird stuff just for the sake of being weird, or to get a taste thrill,
snails are not as gross as certain cheeses mentioned on another thread.

I want to know what species of land snail my avatar is? I've been trying to look it up, but haven't found anything affirmative yet. I want to know if its a snail I could see in the wild (within US) or something I could buy as a pet. I think its darn cute. uh...but not as cute as my kitty of course (who is sitting by my feet worshipping me as I write ok, ok she's really sleeping).

I dunno, but it looks very much like the one that ate my Morning Glories.

I would be thrilled to send you some of our garden snails. Lemme know how. Believe me, I have had it up to .... with garden snails.

Keep them where there's plenty to eat, a lot of moisture but with a place they can crawl up on to stay dry, and shade.

And DEFINITELY no salt.

It's hard to get living things through the mail now though. I think they microwave them.

Actually, we got ants from Uncle Milton's Ant Farm not too long ago through the mail. And I believe one can send chickens.
