It's not very big at all at the moment, only about a foot and a half across. I don't have a camera nor do I know how to put them on the internet. My phone takes pics but I don't have internet on it. It's an old flip phone. I'll have to get one of the kids to do it and they always say they will send them but never really do. I think I have some pics on my Fb of some stuff I've made to sell, but I don't have the Flickr account anymore. I could make another one though. Let me go see waht I can do.

Here is the pattern for the granny square thing. It's very simple.

Chain 3 and join with a slipstitch. Chain three and dbl twice in circle. Ch 3 and dble 3, ch 3 and dble 3, ch 3 and dble 3, ch3 and join to top of ch 3. Ch 3 and dbl in top of each dbl until you reach the ch. Dbl in next two ch stitches, ch 3, dbl in same ch as last dbl, dbl in next ch. Dbl in top of each dbl, repeat all the way around. join to top of ch 3.

See what I'm doing? I'm just making a row on all four sides, a double crochet stitch in the top of every one on the row below it. I put one in each of the ch stitches on the corner but I ch 3 and put one in the same ch st to form the corner. It's very, very simple. I'll still get you a pic though. Each row gets bigger by two stitches on either end. I think it's called something like a closed granny square or something.

I also have a granny square book with 99 different grannies! I'm still stuck on the one. :( It's a square that is well known I guess and pretty generic - used to learn how to do granny squares. Same as yours except ch4 and join, then chain 1 instead of 3 with the doubles 4 times. Then I change colors for 3 more times so it makes a pretty big square. Colors are black and really bright pink, orange, green, blue, red and yellow. I'm a perfectionist, so I'm worried about when I go to join them.

I love, Love, LOVE to crochet----and, like OOM, I learned when I was little. I mostly make lap blankets, for veterans in wheelchairs. Also, when my sister's husband was sick (several years, ago), I made a whole bunch of stuff for her to sell, until some money was coming-in, again. I made, mostly, lap blankets (a.k.a. stadium blankets, in pro-sports teams' colors), hats (with and without pom-poms----and, "fashion hats"), scarves (again, in sports-team colors, and college colors).

I also really like to do needlepoint----but, only in long-stitch, though----you won't catch ME doin' all that intricate cross-stitching, crap. My favorite is the Bargello pattern / stitch:

Image

I can't get ENOUGH of COLOR!!

Then, of course, I can't get enough of PURPLE, either:

Image

I like to make eyeglass cases, checkbook covers, pillows, Kleenex box covers, decorative pillows, wall-hangings.....

I tried knitting, but I don't like it----it drives me CRAZY (too many things to think about / keep-track of, and so-forth).

Also, I like to make kids stuff (crochet). I make baby blankets, of course; dolls / doll clothes, christening gowns, pillows----all kinds of stuff----but, unfortunately, I don't have a photo account, either----and, besides, I've given it all, away.

I made a lap blanket for a veteran, that was a "tuxedo"----and, one that was the confederate flag (the "Southern Cross" one); and, one that was the American flag.....

I also made (crocheted) a blanket that was a barnyard scene----complete with red barn, animals, sun, trees, fences, etc., in "surface crochet".

I'd LOVE to have OOM make me a skirt suit (for compensation [cash], of course), and/or, a dress, because I don't have the time----but, I have to wait until I get a "proper" job, and can afford the materials, etc.

I liked your pics, guys!!

I love those purple colors! If you can post any of your other projects, I would love to see them! Thank you for sharing these with us. :)

I just started this rug:
Image
The starting chain was a bit long but I'll fill in the hole with some stitches later. It's 16 inches across at the moment worked with a 9mm hook with three strands of 8 ply for the base and 3 for the chain work on top. It's a good way to use up left over wool. I usually give them away but I'm liking this one so I may keep it for my meditation mat.

Here's a blanket I made for my son's bed:

I have lots of others. I'm a bit of a crochet freak. I also knit and macrame.

I've knitted scarves and afghans, but nothing as fancy as pictured. I usually stick to a basic k2p2 pattern. I also enjoy counted cross stitch.

Maybe you could show some of your cross stitch. My friend Mary loves doing cross stitch more than knitting. What's the difference between cross stitch and embroidery?

I can't stop looking at that blue color. I'm transfixed. It reminds me of the color I used for my Aspie friends throw - I call it Miami blue.

Thanks! Macrame is basically just knotting. Here's a bottle bag I made:

I just finished this afghan for my wonderful Aspie friend and it even has a personalized tag that doesn't say "Made In China". :D
