I think the vast majority of people are afraid of being smart.

They know what's out there, and know that if they REALLY study it, from a purely detached standpoint, they will become really depressed.

This is why I believe in transcendence away from what's "real" in the present.

I think of stupidity as a sliding scale that averages out in the middle with 50% smart & 50% stupid.

I'm new and this forum is awesome. You can talk about how stupid people are and everyone agrees with you and no one gets offended.

I wonder how many people even navigate life with such limited ability to learn and analyse.

You guys rock.

Oh, trust me Renae, people around here do get offended, especially when your posts are truthful and "blunt".

They also tend to not agree, even when presented with valid facts that are backed up with research and experimentation.

As stated before, stupidity is the willful act of maintaining one's own ignorance and beliefs in the face of contrary and valid evidence.

Completely agree with your definition of stupid, my husband has a similar one. Well I guess they are every where, even in AS forums lol.

How we measure intelligence is meaningless, I can decry all these stupid NTs but most of them are working and having lives so who really is the stupid one here? How is it smart to know a bunch of trivial garbage but not be able to take care yourself? I don't believe the majority people aren't able to know as much as I know about whatever subject, most just don't care about the subject or put their energy into the learning about it. Most people have enough on their plate with jobs and lives to care.
