I think I would define someone having a racial fetish as a person that regards someone of a certain race as an object more than a person. Like there are some white men that will date any Asian woman. They don't care what she looks like, or about her personality, they just think of her as an object or stereotype. And the stereotype is what appeals to them.

The same can be said of anyone with a fetish for any kind of person.

I have not seen any Stephen Chow movies but now I'm intrigued. I'm going to have to find some on Netflix if available.

Originally, a fetish meant something deeply, spiritually, and naturally powerful that had good medicine.

My username comes from Cloud Strife, his Japanese name [Kuraudo], Final Fantasy 7, and the Lucky 777 trick in said game. My avatar is currently a little Skitty from Pokemon.

As noted on my signature I joined wrong planet the day I got diagnosed. It is meant to convey Asperger's syndrome is a part of me.

For comment sections I use Aspie-Autistic1957. 1957 is the year of my birth. It is common in American graffitti to end your "tag" with the year of your birth. We are still fighting the idea that Autism is a recent epidemic so those that get the reference will see I am an older autistic. Aspie-Autistic states my belief that Aspergers is real, and is a variant or subtype of autism.

I agree that the fetish definition is bastardized in one form or another and the paleontological explanation is it's truest form as it is the oldest (as far as I know) but in modern/general terms it's relating to sexual gratification.

As for the Aspie/Autist thing, well, I'm still learning and that will change things up as I learn more. I just like Asperger's as a term as it codifies a series of things I feel and identify with.

As for the current craze of diagnosing, I feel it's a two parter.
1) As they codify their findings, things will appear to be 'new' when it's just been called something else: He's got Asperger's VS. He's a problem child.

2) There are those who want to jump on things to try to justify their lot in life: I can't excel because I'm (Fill in the blank).

I've had success. I've had failures. But, I want to find out why I'm so off kilter in a world that should not even notice me. I've been fortunate to work in a profession that allows and even celebrates strangeness. But, even that wears thin.

Just got an email about a function I was approached to do 4 months ago. Was promised pay. Now, they want to renege on the money AND made a pointed reference to 'understanding' about the pay, but they 'hope I will attend'. Seems backhanded to me. Why renege? Why mention the pay only when I inquired about dates to plan my month? Why was there not a blanket email to all attending saying the same thing? Let's just say we've had dustups lately and I think they are purposefully marginalizing me and my participation.

This is the type of thing I don't know how to handle or even the situations that caused the dustups to begin with. Basically, it's been real and it's been around my whole life. That inability to understand people and how to handle them in social situations. There are other factors too.

So, it's been 55 years and whatever they decided to call it now, it's still the same thing.

It means "reflection", which is important to me.

How could a human exist that can't reflect? It would be impossible!

edit: I'm a hummingbird now!

My username is supposed to "reflect" my location and my first name. I use "Rockymtnchris" or similar derivitaves on most of the boards I post on. At some of those forums such as sports and media sites, numerous users (likely NT's) tend to see only the first five letters of my username and call me "Rocky" for short. I ended up staging the "boxing" avatar photo (used about everywhere I frequent) in a humourous attempt to "live up" to their over-machoed perception of me. Ironically, the first disc jockey name given to me during my college radio work-study happened to be "Rocky Robbins" back in California in the 1980's. Due to now living at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, the name "Rocky" is naturally highly popular here in the Denver area, so I still use "Rocky Robbins" in the local entertainment biz. After all this time, I've learned to answer to both "Rocky" and "Chris"

my username is one of johnny carson's "mighty carson art players" characters "aunt blabby" who in turn was a rip-off of jonathan winter's character "maude frickert." the avatar photo is actor art carney in his role as "henry corwin" from the old Twilight Zone episode "night of the meek" where he played a dissipated dep't store santa whose best days were far behind him until he found redemption at the end.

AP are my initials, and I went through a period of referring to myself in third person (in my head) as "The AP".

Mine is simply the name of the creature in my avatar: the Sabreclaw. From a game called Heretic.

My username is my first name, and the animal I feel that I can associate the most with (the scorpion)

Obviously, I like your first name. Out of curiousity, would you happen to be a Scorpio? I've often thought of changing my middle name from John to "Leo" (my birthsign).

I love birds and the most beautiful bird related activity to my eyes is to see a bird in the sky, flying. A bird in flight is one of my favorite things.

I could have just as well have picked "Lindt chocolate" or my favorite color.

I'm not very good at thinking up names and usually opt for favorite things to use as a name.
