There was one episode of the Brady Bunch that was almost called "Greg Brady Gets Stoned." Barry Williams (correct me if I'm wrong) came onto the set stoned on pot one day and there was no choice but to write it into the script.

The Kraft brothers have always said they're not into drugs.

There fan base on the other hand......

Does Puffnstuff predate Lancelot Link?

Yes, Jimmy sailed off to the island September 6, 1969 on NBC.

Lancelot, on the other hand joined A.P.E. on A.B.C. September 12, 1970.

Sadly both shows were "one-season wonders", as well as two other of my favourite childhood mindblowers, Rip Taylor's "Here Comes the Grump" and Don Kirshner's "Kids From C.A.P.E.R." I had crushes on Prince Terry and also Doomsday Ninja Biff Warren.

Does Superjail! on Adult Swim count as a stoner show? :) It has such a freaky style of animation that makes me think it could be classified as one, but I'm not sure.

Dobie Gillis, in the late 1950s, had a stoner as a main character. Many were called "beatniks" then.

Maynard Krebs, IIRC.

As I remember the character's laziness would certainly support that idea.

This is an Australian anti cannabis propaganda film which has been a big hit with young people - don't know about them, but it actually made me want to take it up again!

I DO NOT believe that everyone involved in making this film was clean

The Strange World of Gurney Slade from 1960 was decidedly odd - as was another 60's thing called The Corridor People. How much input LSD use had into television and film at the time is unknown, but the substance was legal back then.

Man, I loved this show and Banana Splits (someone else mentioned that, I think).

Bod Odenkirk and David Cross did a parody of it on Mr. Show that alluded to the drug overtones.

I was watching Robot Chicken high last week but I've quit this week and am just drinking to past a drug test. I plan to continue to smoke weed after this week.
