Mononoke

But, that's the only one I've seen (which isn't saying that much, as it's an awesome movie with a good message of how both sides are often extremists).

I've looked into many of the others, but they don't seem to be something I'd like.

Well, I've seen Princess Mononoke a couple of times over the years. I thought it was a great film.

Oh, PM is seven on the list but whatever. Shinsekai yori is definitely in my top 5 animes. The impure cats hit a little to close to home on my childhood fears. Yeah thematically its great, the concept of what it means to be human and sacrifice. I love Kiroumaru

It's truly epic. It's based on an award-winning science fiction novel, also called Shinsekai yori (yet to be fully translated), set in a far-flung future where people have developed psychic gifts. I don't think I can say anymore without spoiling the plot. I recommend it to anyone who likes SF/F.
