Its a little known fact that the South Channel Fort was built on a man made island in Port Phillip (on the "south channel") around the time of the Crimean War (and the gold rush) when we were afraid Werbertia may invade us for our mountains of gold kept in the banks of Melbourne, so that Werbertia could support the Russians.

Little wonder the CIA has Werbert under surveillance.

PS - incase any one doesn't know by now, I'm in Melbourne (Moonee Ponds of course )

In WA.
Some have confused it for somewhere in the USA because there is also a WA there.

Well, we've got six states. And two territories*. We try.

* OK, this wouldn't be an aspie site without needless pedantry, so: we have two internal territories, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory, that function in much the same way as the states. We also have a handful of external territories, like Norfolk Island and the Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands (the only place in the world with brackets in its official name), which are more like foreign nations who happen to share our government. And, of course, the Australian Antarctic Territory, which is like... well, the Australian Antarctic Territory. But no-one ever counts any of those, so I'll say two.
