Pretty cool hiding spot she's got there, huh? I'm going to try to lure her away from the eggs tomorrow so I can see how many she's sitting on. If so I'll post the pic.

You're on the wrong continent! If I can't get a dog from the US mainland to Hawaii, how're you going to get a platypus from Australia to Colorado?

Slightly off-topic: are Australia and Hawaii the only two places on earth the rabies virus does not exist?

Awww, those things have always amazed me. They are so cute.

I kept praying mantises and stick insects for a long time.
I want an iguana or a basilisk.

He's not really a pet, but there's a young bearded dragon in my garden that I call Errol.

Speaking of reptiles in gardens, here's MS with a Jackson's Chameleon:

My brother had a chameleon like that. It died from some sort of skin infection though. :(

I had a praying mantis last summer.
I kept a garter snake I caught in the forest preserve for a year.
I have also had degus. Sort of like a mix between a hampster and a chinchilla.
We also have had a squirrel and 3 flying squirrels. The flying squirrels were wild and dropped into our bathroom from the ceiling fan. We kept them for a little while and took them out to a nearby park and let them go.
