Subway sucks. We have them all over the place here and consider yourself lucky. There's nothing quite like paying 7 bucks for a lettuce sandwich.

It wouldn't bother me a bit if Subway sandwich shoppes disappeared off the face of the earth (Blimpie went bye-bye in my area at least ten years ago, and I liked them better). Same goes for Wendy's, I wouldn't miss their soggy square burgers in the least.

No subway in my town or anywhere nearby, so riding the subway is something I only do when I'm on holiday in some big city like London or Berlin.

But I really like using them, when they're not too crowded. I like seeing the different stations and watching people get on and off. I love reading the maps and finding the most sensible route - I love how everything connects and make sense, and it sort of makes me feel both calm and excited at the same time. My family always let me be in charge of the route part of the subway, and I love them for that.

I've only really ever rode the DC Metro which I thought was fantastic while I was there, the only problem is in the morning when all the bureaucrats are rushing to work and its super crowded. Very clean and the architecture is something you never forget, those ceilings looked like something out of Batman. Mind you, my time in DC has been fairly limited. I've known quite a few people from NYC, their subway does not sound as nice to say the least.

am pretty sure gene Roddenberry [RIP] filmed at least one movie in the tunnels bored before the construction of the DC subway.

Not sure which part of Jersey you're in, but the Quizno site still shows lots of locations in the NYC/Newark area.

Dude, like every single one is closed that I used to go to/see around. I didn't eat out that often, but when I wanted a sandwich, they were the best. I mean maybe there's one an hour away or something, but there used to be at least 4 that all closed down. Even when they were open, no one was ever in there. But Subway on the other hand, people can't get enough of those LT's...
