I'd LOL, but for the fear factor of it all ! ! This was in Northern Arizona USA? Were they sheriffs? Rangers? How did they know you were there?? Did they have the area under surveilance to arrest teens who might show up to smoke pot? It's probably a good thing you didn't try acting like lesbians, or they would've arrested you for THAT ! !!
Overall, USA police need to come to Britain and learn proper manners from our bobbies.

I'm assuming they were just patrolling the road, maybe they passed by twice and saw our vehicle was there for awhile. There is a ranger station a few miles down that road. Otherwise its wilderness area, outside city limits. Thing is when the water level is high there are numerous men will camp out all night fishing for channel cats. I've seen their bonfires. I used to go there a lot just to bird watch or check out the ice in winters when it was frozen over. One time I walked for hours at night listening to the sheets of ice clink together as the moonlight reflected off the surface. That was poetic beauty like none other.

I think its like Zannemarie said in that when autistics get together we look suspicious. I suppose if Richard or another Aspie from town joined us we would be accused of having a gang. Like three people stimming at the same time would be dangerous or something.

That's just ridiculous Richard. I mean how many cars do we see in town covered in dirt and during the monsoon season mud? A lot of people live off dirt roads here. I hope your mom protested the ticket at city hall. I went down to city hall and the said I didn't have to pay the ticket I got because I couldn't find my registration. Taught me to clean the glovebox out a little more often though.

Its something of a conundrum I think that (it seems to me) on one hand you Americans have many more freedoms than us but on the other you are much more heavily policed.

Our Parks Rangers would never stop you like that. Our police would stop to check you were ok or to make sure your not up to no good.

We have less freedoms as Americans all the time since you know who is in charge. Its become a police state. On a recent airline trip because my knee brace set off the metal detector I was made to unzip my pants and show my underwear in front of everyone to prove I wasn't concealing a weapon. Mind you I had my knee brace over my pants and told them it had steel in it. And yes it was this airport in Northern AZ that demanded I unzip my pants. She also frisked me up and down both sides. I would have said something nasty to her, but you can get arrested for refusing a security person.

Similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was out walking around my neighborhood after dark with a cigar and a walking stick when apparently some paranoid neighbor called me in.

911! There is a man! Walking around on the street! Looking at the stars!

Clearly, something must be done about this kind of behavior

These two cops rolled up and "detained" me for at least an hour.

"Do you have any guns or knives?"

"Been peeping in any windows?"

(a car rolled by)

"Do you know that guy?"

"What are you doing out here so late."

I told them I was walking around and looking at the stars.

They acted like this was really hard to believe. I mean, walking? Looking at the stars? Who does THAT.

The poor guys must have been bored. They tried and tried to find something they could get me on but was hard for them to do because I WASN'T BREAKING THE LAW.

But they put me in the patrol car anyway and took me home.

Next time I will get badge numbers.

For now it is enough that whenever the Police Benevolence Society calls I tell them where to go

In a police state only the police have a state.

I think that's terrible what they did to you Beautifulspam. They think the whole lot of us should be sitting on our butts in front of the tv or video games. Believe it or not some of us still like to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
